Baptism

admin March 20th, 2009

Baptismal preparation class and baptism of an infant or a young child are available to registered parishioners.

BAPTISM PREPARATION CLASSES for parents and godparents are held every first Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in one of the parish school classrooms (usually in the Grade 8 classroom).

BAPTISMS are administered every third Saturday of each month at 11:00 a.m. (NO Mass) or during any of the weekend Masses (maximum of two kids per Mass; therefore, first-come-first-serve).

Parents who are registered and are active parishioners, please contact the Rectory at (707) 553-1355 at least one month prior to baptism.

    Hi,

My husband and I have been trying to contact the above phone number to find out information on baptismal services. We are looking into the month of May and wanted to know what needs to be done. I wasn’t sure if the answering machine allows me to leave a message because it doesn’t state to.

Are the baptism for registered parishioners only???

Non-parishioners can request baptism at St. Catherines provided they have to present a permission or certification from their own Parish. Please give our office a call at 707-553-1355 and ask for Lynne Magat and she would be happy to help.

    Thank you,

    Hello,
I was asked to be a godparent to a child that does not live in the area. Can I take a godparent preparation class at St. Catherine’s instead of taking it in that child’s area? Thank you.

    Hello,
We are interested in having our daughter baptized in July. I’ve left a message on the rectory voicemail. I’ve also tried several times to call the rectory back but either get a busy signal or one ring then the phone hangs up. We live out of the area but used to be parishoners. Can you please contact me back? Thank you.

I want to have my youngest son baptized next year in April. Do I have to take the baptism preparation class again if I had already attended a class last year? I had my other son baptized at St. Catherine’s last year.

I need your help. I can’t remember which church my daughter was baptized in in Vallejo and she needs the certificate to get married. How do I check if it was your church? Please advise.

    Thanks!

Hi. I probably know the answer to this already but I’ll ask anyway. Can godparents be of different faith (non Roman Catholic)? Thanks!

  17. adminon 28 Jul 2010 at 11:50 am

Baptism preparation class certificates are good for 2 years. If you attended one in the past year, you don’t need to take another. If you need a copy of the certificate, please contact our rectory.

Please call the rectory and speak to Lynne Magat at 553-1355.

The only requirement is that at least one of the godparent be a faithful Roman Catholic.
