Yesterday, February 21, 2010, after weeks of faith formation by the Parish’s Rite of Christian Initiation [RCIA] team, Fr. Jess Soriano, in a Rite of Sending, confirmed the readiness of RCIA candidates and catechumens at the 10:00am Holy Mass.

This year’s candidates are Bernice Castro, Joel Estrellardo, Noah Martin, Carlos Miranda, April Parangao, Janice Velarde, Ivy Zamora and Rowena Zamora. Accompanying the candidates are their sponsors, respectively, Mayette Espiritu, Justin Reyes, Juan Moreno, Tom Hoey, Sonja Parangan, Linda Becker, Gene Leoncio and Anna Marinas. Then, catechumen Toby Curl and his sponsor, Boyet Espiritu, the candidates and their sponsors joined catechumens and candidates from throughout the Diocese of Sacramento at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Sacramento. They were presented to our Most Reverend Bishop Jaime Soto at the Rite of Election.

During Lent, our parish community will pray for their purification and enlightenment as they continue a period of intense preparation and prayer. At Easter Vigil, we look forward to the day whey they are called forward to receive the Easter sacraments.
