St. Vincent de Paul Ministry

Mission Statement:
In a spirit of justice and charity, to work to serve anyone in need. This mission can be pursued at the neighborhood level through volunteer efforts in our parish or on a citywide level through support of professional social service programs working to break the cycles of homelessness, poverty, hunger, substance abuse and battering.

Vision Statement:

  • To provide ways to better serve the needy through the development and growth of parish support groups
  • To support and/or enhance our parish’s ability to provide service to the needy by undertaking and operating business ventures (e.g., Thrift Stores and Job Placement Referral) which are guided by Catholic social teachings.
  • To support professional social service programs by maintaining and developing supportive organizational structures.

What the ministry is about:
A group of women and men that “seeks in a spirit of justice and charity and by person-to-person involvement of its members, to help those who are suffering.” It provides direct service, to address human dignity needs relevant to/and related to Catholic Social Teaching. The ministry collaborates with other people & agencies of good will in relieving “de-humanizing need” and working to spread Gospel values.
